In a world where we are constantly being bombarded with adverts it’s sometimes difficult to work out which products we should be using to ensure our optimum health. Here at The Cosmetic Surgery Magazine we are often asked to review products that can help to enhance our overall well-being.
After receiving a request to review Bare Biology – Skinful Pure Marine Collagen Powder our team excitedly began trialling this natural product made from sustainable cod skin for 8 weeks and are continuing to do so. We’d now like to share with you our findings of this product Skinful Pure Marine Collagen Powder with you, which is just a part of the Bare Biology range on offer .
So, a little background first: what is collagen and why do our bodies need it? Collagen is the most abundant form of protein in the human body and is found in our skin, muscles, tendons, bones as well as our fingernails and hair. It is the substance that holds the body together. Collagen forms a scaffold to provide strength and structure. When your body makes collagen, it combines amino acids — nutrients you get from eating protein-rich foods, like beef, chicken, fish, beans, eggs and dairy products. The process also requires vitamin C, zinc and copper. But collagen production declines with age and exposure to factors such as smoking and UV light, so taking as a supplement will help to keep our bodies collagen levels balanced.
Our team here at The Cosmetic Surgery Magazine first thoughts of taking Skinful Pure Marine Collagen Powder was to see if it lived up to its promise of not having a nasty fishy taste that repeats on you like many other fish oils/products have. It doesn’t, although it does have a slight fishy smell we found when the powder was mixed into a coffee or herbal tea it dissolved with a neutral taste. You would not know the Skinful Pure Marine Collagen Powder was in the drink unless you’d seen it being made. A huge benefit and plus for this product as it makes it easy and convenient to use.
We loved the fact that Skinful Pure Marine Collagen Powder is very versatile and doesn’t always have to be taken as a drink. This product isn’t damaged by heat and the collagen peptides can withstand heat up to 300°C. We tested this out for ourselves and incorporated Skinful Pure Marine Collagen Powder in a number of different recipes. We found there was no horrible fishy taste in the food and as this product is gluten free a plate of freshly made biscuits could be enjoyed by the whole team. Another benefit and plus point.
So, during just a few weeks of testing, what noticeable benefits are there from taking Skinful Pure Marine Collagen Powder? Everyone in our team who took part in the testing period had beautiful nails that are noticeable stronger and longer. We’re confident there will be more benefits to come over time. We’ve also enjoyed trying out our gluten free recipes together.
We found if you bought this product Skinful Pure Marine Collagen Powder for yourself from Bare Biology a 300gms pot would cost £35, which we thought was reasonably priced when taking 1 standard size tablespoon (or 3 standard teaspoons) a day would last you a month. We noticed there is a chance on Bare Biology’s website to make a saving of 15% off your initial order if you subscribe to them. Always great to make a saving.
With climate change and waste being a huge topic of concern it great to see that businesses are taking responsible action when it comes to packaging their products. Bare Biology have done just that as the entire box, the inner sleeve, leaflet, bottle and the capsule pot are all recyclable. Well done guys…
We loved your product as it is simple and easy to use. It doesn’t have a horrible nasty fishy taste that repeats on you for hours after using it. Plus the fact you’ve also taken your packaging into account making it all recyclable. Highly recommended.
About Bare Biology
Melanie Lawson
CEO & Founder
One day back in 2012, I woke up and decided to start a fish oil business. My friends and family raised their eyebrows and smiled. Omega 3 had been a lifesaver to me as a mother of three young children, and I was a complete convert. But I was tired of trying to hunt down a supplement that was strong enough to work, fresh enough to taste good, in a form I could absorb, and with clear proof of being 100% pure. I couldn’t find one, so I decided to make it myself.
